• Sorghum is a cereal crop plant (ranking 5th
  in terms of the quantity grown worldwide.
• An annual plant whose origin is lost in Antiquity Sorghum is a grass which grows to between 1.50m (cereal varieties of Sorghum bicolor) and 4m (for Sorghum saccharatum used to make sugar and syrup)
• The sorghum stalk is filled with a marrow containing a mild sweet juice that is rich in fructose, β-D-fructofuranoside and glucose (resulting from hydrolysis of the plant’s starch reserves).
